The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 – otherwise known as the Stimulus Bill – will soon be law. With the inclusion of the HITECH Act, which is the component of the Bill focused on health IT, this landmark legislation provides approximately $20 Billion in incentives for physician groups to ensure widespread utilization of Electronic Health Records.
Simply stated, this is very BIG news as cost, the most prevalent barrier to entry for many groups, is being directly addressed.
