Tom Daschle has withdrawn his nomination for Secretary of Health and Human Services. I view this as a positive step on his part, because I firmly believe that meaningful health care reform must be guided by someone without debt or obligation to any of the parties involved in the reform process.
I applaud Daschle’s decision to step down and allow someone with less baggage steer the process.
