I get it. I understand and relate to your "rant"! I am signing petitions, calling representatives and talking to people in my circle of influence. I live in TX and my experience is that most people here are against healthcare reform that provides good, affordable healthcare for everyone. I get really frustrated because I don't really get why they are against it. Their arguments either don't make sense to me, sound very self centered or are exagerrations at best and lies at worst. I really get the feeling that it is mostly about defeating the "left" at all possible costs (ie their integrity, others very lifes, their compassion). I am sure there are exceptions and there are those who have rational arguments against HCR - but mostly not. I hear things like "if they want ins. let them get a job" or "healthcare IS NOT a right" or "we can't afford it" or "I don't want it because it supports abortion" or "it will lead to full blown socialism" - stuff like that. It makes me want to scream and cry at the same time.
